We had a fun spring break at Tombstone. We went to Pantagonia Lake for one night then to Tombstone for 2 nights. Fernando and Mattia slept outside under the stars and moon for the first time. The moon was full and they said it was the closest to the earth at that time. Mattia was scared to sleep outside, he thought he would be attacked so he asked Ross for a knife to protect him. He spent most of the time in the bathroom when he got cold or scared. It was a very cold weekend and we would wake up cold.
Papa (Ross) drove the 5th wheel down and we used that as our base camp. Marie slept in her car with Gracie and Lucy. Candice and Hailie slept in the excursion. Keith, Weston, Fernando and Mattia slept under the stars. Nana and Papa slept in the 5th wheel with Tyler and Hunter. It only cost us $20 per night and $1.00 showers. Perfect place for all of us and we couldn't beat the price.
We did not put all the food in the car. It was behind the door when we packed the car. So we ate cheese crisps till Keith brought up the food. But I didn't forget the snack food - so we all survived.
In Tombstone the big kids went into town and saw the sights while Nana & Papa babysat the little girls, Lucy, Gracie and Hailie. The girls had so much fun playing in the trailer and watching the horses. They played house and cleaned the trailer only to dump 5 gallons of water inside the trailer.
Friday night we went to a one man cowboy show. It was so much fun. Cowboy Doug told stories, poems and tricks. Fernando dressed up as a cowboy. Weston, Keith and Hunter got to play instruments in the band. Then Mattia had a farting machine under his chair while he told a funny joke about a can of beans and a bear. It was a fun day. Cowboy Doug taught the boys how to rope a cow.
On the way home we stopped at Colossal Cave and a Catholic Church in Tucson. Fun time.
Spring break the grandchildren all got in the pool and swam... not saying the water was warm... but they got in.
Mattia has been busy with his role as the Frier in Romeo and Juliet. Fernando has learned to play softball. He hits the ball like he is playing tennis. Weston has tried to teach him to hold the bat correctly, but Fernando says he can hit it harder his way, left-handed.
We have been blessed in our 6 children and 8 grandchildren.
