Quarter in my EYE

The plaque has been out of my eye for almost one week. The worst part about it was the plaque scratched my cornea. I had a corneal abrasion. It felt like someone rubbed my eye with sandpaper than put a hot coal on it. I woke up at 1:30 am with my eye on fire after the 2nd eye surgery. I ripped off the bandages and couldn't believe the pain. On a scale of 1 - 10 I was at a 15 for pain. I have never felt such pain. The plaque covered part of my cornea and apparently did its damage. Ross rushed me back to Tucson to see the Doctor and he gave me some medicine and it has helped.

If you could see my eye up close you would skin around my pupil all jagged and sticking up. That is the skin they pulled up and sewed to my eye. It really itches my eye.
My eye can open. You can see a line on the left side of the eye where the skin is. I got a pretty good shiner.
This morning as I was walking into the kitchen there was this quarter lying on the floor. I looked at it and thought no way was the plaque that size in my eye. I couldn't believe when I put the quarter up to my eye and thought that the plaque was that size and maybe a little thicker for the iodine seeds. YUCK! How would you like that in your eye for 7 days and than have it scratch your cornea. Not a fun week.
Weston and Ross have been my cook, cleaners and chauffeurs. I love them.

Tyler, Hunter, Lucy and Gracie came over and cleaned the house on their day off of school. Aaron just looks at my eye and doesn't say much. Then there is Kate who every time she sees me, she asks me how I am doing? I always get down on Kate's level and ask her to look at my eye and tell me. She then replies "good" then walks away. Hailie stays her distance. I am able to hold Megan and Alexander and I love holding the babies. When we skype with Griffin he just looks at me and just laughs - I guess I look that funny. Marie asked Gracie to snuggle with me one afternoon. Gracie came over to me and my eye was dripping bad. Gracie looked at my eye and said "do I have too?" I told her no. My eye was a leaky faucet and would just drip - I wouldn't want to snuggle with me either.

It has taken a toll on me to have radiation. I cannot read or watch TV or do anything with the eye too long. Even my good eye starts to bother me. I am trying to learn from this experience. I can say it has been hard to just sit around, but my eye is now in control of what I do each day. My health is important and I need to heal.

Family is the most important thing in the world. Nothing else matters. LOVE my family.

LOVE,
Linda

Gold in my EYE

Warning if you don't want to see what they did to my eye - DO NOT CONTINUE!!!!

I have taken pictures of the gold plaque in my eye. The gold plaque is shown here. The plaque was so big that it covered part of my pupil. The rest of the gold is covered by the part of the eye that covers the eye. Now you can see why I can't wait to get this out of my eye. I have it in my eye for almost 1 full week. I have felt the plaque and the stitches. As you can see my pupil the whole time has been stuck in that position. Hopefully once the plaque is out it will be able to tract with the right eye.

My left eye now opens up just a crack and I can see through it. That is when I see double. Weird. I guess once I get the plaque I am in for a lot of change. My eye just weeps all the time.

Today I woke so happy knowing that Wednesday was just one day away. While making my breakfast, I just broke down crying. I can't take it any longer. Poor Ross didn't know what to do. One moment I was all happy and the next crying. I have tried to be strong and rely on God, but this morning I just broke down and had a good cry. I have tried to keep my mind going so I wouldn't go crazy. Chandra Porter washed my hair after 1 week. She is such an angel.

I have had dear, sweet friends stop by and check up on me and my eye. So thankful for friends and family who daily checked up me and kept me going. So thankful for the best husband who has been with me every moment this past week. He has been my doctor and put the ointment in my eye each day and has not complained. He has cooked and cleaned for me and even slept on the chair so as to not get radiation. Ross has read me books and been there the whole time. I am so thankful to have such a great husband. I know this has been hard on him, but he has been the best.

Warning to do not proceed if you don't want.
