I have a new theory after doing a lot of reading on the internet and it is that "I am going to starve the cancer by what I eat". I no longer eat sugar, white flour, processed foods or any kind of food sweetened by artificial sweeteners. It is amazing how food taste so much better. They say that sugar feeds cancer, so that was the first thing to go.
Weston says I eat like a "HIPPIE". For breakfast I take a tangerine, handful of spinach, kale, lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers, strawberries and sometimes an avocado and blend it up for breakfast topped with ground walnuts and flax seed. For lunch and dinner just vegetables and fruit. I love carrot juice. Many years ago after my Grandparents died, I got their juicer. It is big and bulky and has sat downstairs in the closet for years. Well Ross got it out and we have been juicing. Ross has been eating right along with me (with an occasional steak).
One thing about eating this way is that you lose weight. I have also been exercising to keep the body in shape. When you have cancer they tell you to exercise everyday. So that is now a priority.
I have had many blessings and miracles. The youth in our ward had a "Fast - Feast" this last week. The Young Woman and Young Man all met on Tuesday to start their fast and then on Wednesday they broke their fast with a testimony meeting and a big meal provided by Rick Martinsen. I was told by Tammy Gross that one of the boys came over to eat at her house on Wednesday and said he was fasting and wouldn't eat. Ryan Hineman told Tammy that he was fasting for me. Weston said that the Bishop told the youth to fast for me if they would like to. That meant so much to me.
I have had many phone calls and talked to so many who call just to tell me their are thinking of me and have been praying for me. My name has been put in the temple. I am on a Catholic prayer line. I have felt the prayers by so many. When my eye starts to hurt and I can't stand it, I stop and contemplate on how many people are praying for me. I put my priorities back into perspective and think that with all the prayers and fasting on my behalf, I can stop the pain and I can heal. I have faith that will happen.
When Ross and I come to a question on what to do next with the diet or anything, the way is always opened up to us. Amazing how the Lord works through other hands. I am truly blessed.
Now for the good news - Candice and Sean had a baby boy, Alexander born 2-1-12. That makes #10 grandchildren for us. We love everyone of them - Tyler, Hunter, Lucy, Gracie, Aaron, Kate, Megan, Griffin, Hailie and Alexander.
Life is good! Look for the miracles in your problems - it will help a lot.
